Tremors felt in Singapore after Indonesian earthquake
SINGAPORE, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) — Tremors were felt in different parts of Singapore on Wednesday evening after the Indonesian earthquake.
According to the website of local newspaper the Straits Times, Singaporeans felt their world literally move about 6:15 p.m. local time when aftershocks from a powerful Indonesian earthquake hit the island.
Buildings in Singapore’s Toa Payoh, Woodlands, Bukit Timah and the eastern parts of Singapore like Simei and Kembangan shook, scaring some residents. Some residents report that the tremors lasted for some two to three minutes.
There were currently no reports of injuries or deaths here.
An earthquake with magnitude of 7.6 jolted Indonesia’s West Sumatra province at Sumatra Island on Wednesday.
