Singapore PM sends condolence letter to Tonga counterpart
SINGAPORE, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) — Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has written a condolence letter to Prime Minister of Tonga Feleti Vaka’ata Sevele on the destruction to Tonga by the South Pacific Tsunami.
According to a statement by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, Lee said he was saddened to learn of the loss of lives and damage in Tonga caused by the tsunami in the South Pacific.
“On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the people of Tonga who are affected by the tsunami and our condolences to the families of the victims.”
