Excise tax for 2009 reaches B291bn
Government revenue from excise tax collection for the 2009 fiscal year ending Sept 30 increased over the previous year by 12.91 billion baht, or 4.64 per cent, to 291.11 billion baht, director-general of Excise Department Areepong Phucha-um said on Thursday.
Excise tax income from oil was the largest, at 91.06 billion baht, followed by 48.99 billion baht from beer and 19.28 billion baht from vehicle taxes.
He projected that the excise tax income in 2010 would be nearly the same as this year.
