Export business boosted through Bt3.4bn loans

BANGKOK, 13 November 2009 (NNT) – The Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank) provided 34 billion baht worth of loans and 6.6 billion baht in Fast Track credits to exporters in the past 9 months as a stimulus to fight the global economic crisis.

Managing Director of EXIM Bank, Mr Aphichai Boonthiravorn said the loans accounted for 93% of the target of 3.72 billion baht while approvals under the Fast Track Credit program surpassed the target of 3.5 billion baht, reaching 6.63 billion baht, or 190% of the target.

As for the export credit guaranteeing project, the bank has approved more than 4.73 billion baht under this scheme, accounting for 125% of the target.

Moreover, EXIM Bank has been offering suppliers’ credit facility – a complete service coverage for the customers – since August 2009, lending a total of 2.1 billion baht to 188 operators.
