Wives Of BN Elected Reps Need To Support Husbands’ Service To People – Najib
SEREMBAN, Dec 6 (Bernama) — The wives of Barisan Nasional (BN) elected representatives need to understand and support their husbands’ work so as to lend strength to BN in serving the people.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said if the BN elected representatives could guide their wives, lift their spirits and get their understanding, then the people would feel the positive effects.
Najib was speaking at the closing of the annual programme of the wives of BN elected representatives, here, Saturday night.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, president of the Welfare Body of the Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) Datin Seri Rosmah, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and his wife Datin Seri Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumuddin.
Najib said the programme was meaningful not just for recreational and sporting activities, but also to enable the wives of the elected representatives to play a more effective supportive role for their husbands.
“Their wives are their loyal supporters, and not just in looking after the home and family, but also by going down to the ground together to serve the people.
“Then this programme is worth holding and it has been attended by all the welfare bodies of the wives of BN elected reps in all the states.
“If their husbands are busy with their official duties, their wives have their own activities to share and exchange ideas. So, we have another source of energy that does not come from a government agency in serving the people.”
At the function, Najib also thanked the state government and the Welfare Body of the Wives of Negeri Sembilan Elected Representatives (Pekerti) in hosting this year’s programme.
