Information Center for people entering Vientiane during 25th SEA Games
Udon Thani, 8 December 2009 (NNT) – An Information Center Service has been set up at the Udon Thani railway station to facilitate tourists during Vientiane Games on 9-18 December 2009.
The President of Udon Thani Tourism Business Association, Mr Tinnakorn Thongpao cited that the Information Center has been set up in collaboration with Nongkhai Tourism Business Association, Vientiane Tourism Organization and Lao National Tourism Organization in order to service tourists and sport supporters flocking to Vientiane during the Vientiane Games.
All vehicles entering Vientiane are supposed to have passports or required documents and to park only at the provided areas. Buses traveling to other cities in Lao are not allowed to stop by Vientiane and need to drive along the assigned routes. The Lao Government’s measures are aim at traffic facilitating in Vientiane due to the city’s narrow streets.
The center would provide tourists all required information and cooperate in border pass procedure in Udon Thani Province. Round-trip buses are also provided, costing 800 THB/person excluding the Sea Games tickets which can be bought at the stadium. At the moment, the rooms in Vientiane and Nongkhai have been fully reserved, the tourists can stay in Udon Thani instead with the vehicles provided by the center for one day round-trips.
