KOTA KINABALU, Dec 8 (Bernama) — Thousands of job seekers from throughout Sabah are expected to visit the Career Expo organised by the state Ministry of Resource Development and Information Technology at the Sabah Trade Centre in Likas on Dec 11.
Its Minister, Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai said among the key activities at the expo, is a career exhibition that has the participation of public and private training institutions, companies offering jobs as well as the sales of books at discounted rates.
“A total of 50 organisations comprising state and federal government agencies, those offering skills training and institutions of higher learning will participate in the exhibition.
“This is the third time we are having this career expo and the response previously was very encouraging, with many requesting that it continued to be held annually,” he told reporters at Wisma Bandaraya here on Tuesday.
Also present was the Deputy Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Jainab Ahmad.
Yee said the career expo among others, is aimed at disseminating information on training and career development to youths, job seekers, students, parents, trachers and the public while publicising the role of the ministry in human resource development in Sabah.
At the same time, he explained, it also gave an opportunity for job seekers to interact openly with employers.
