Air-con sales expects huge leap due to hot weather

President of the Thai Air Conditioning Traders Association, Mr Chokchai Pongpisutvanij, is convinced the market demand will grow no less than 10% and is likely to reach 30% owing to the unusually hot weather that arrives early this year.

Mr Chokchai said the economic recovery is also a factor contributing to better business. However, political uncertainty and the upcoming rallies could indirectly affect the sales. Some consumers tend to hold their decision as they are worried the situation could again pose threats to the economy and hence their future incomes.

Mr Chokchai added that the air conditioning market sees vigorous competitions this year with the products from Korea which cost less and save more energy, starting to dominate the market.
