Grand Songkran Celebrations to be held at Suvarnabhumi Airport
BANGKOK, 8 April 2010 (NNT) – Suvarnabhumi Airport has organized “Grand Songkran Celebrations” event to publicize Thai culture as well as ease up political stress among passengers.
Airport Director, Serirat Prasutanon said the event would be held from 6 April 2010 to the end of the month in the Passenger Terminal Building, with a number of traditional activities ready to impress Thai and international tourists.
The terminal will be decorated in traditional Thai style with activities including fragrant water pouring on Buddha statue, an exhibition about Songkran Festival as well as demonstrations of traditional fragrant water and flower garland.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Nirandra Theeranartsin, expected 1.3 million passengers during Songkran festival. The event aims at celebrating Thai traditional New Year and publicizing the festival but the airport decorations would certainly impress passengers and ease up political stress among tourists. The event would also promote the airport to become the world’s Top 10 Airlines in the future.
