PHUKET, 26 April 2010 (NNT) – The Tourist Association of India has expressed its preference to select Phuket province of Thailand as its meeting location this year due to conveniences in terms of meeting facilities, nearness, accommodations, and safety.
Phuket Deputy Governor Tree Akaradecha disclosed that three provinces including Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket have been proposed for selection as the meeting venue of the Tourist Association of India this year. However, after a discussion among the committee members, the association was keen to choose Phuket because of the various available facilities and tourist attractions.
The annual meeting of the Tourist Association of India is scheduled to be arranged in Thailand during September – October 2010.
Mr Tree also stated that more than 2,000 members of the association will attend the meeting, most of whom are representatives of travel agencies. He said if Phuket was selected, the meeting would bring more revenues to the province in all aspects. The gathering will also help boost the number of Indian tourists to Thailand this year and the years after, he added.
