72 of 10 April bloodshed, 23 of Silom blast remain hospitalized
BANGKOK, 25 April 2010 (NNT) – A total of 72 people injured from the 10 April violence still remain under close medical surveillance in hospitals.
According to the latest report released by the Erawan Emergency Medical Centre of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, 72 out of 839 victims of the 10 April clash between the troops and the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protestors are presently receiving medical treatment in hospitals. Five of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), consisting of three at Phramongkutklao Military Hospital and one each at Bangkok Metropolitan Administration General Hospital, Rama 9 Hospital. A total of 25 fatalities were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, 23 out of 80 people wounded from recent Silom grenade blasts remained hospitalized so far. Of these, seven were currently admitted at Lerdsin Hospital, nine at Chulalongkorn Hospital – one of them is now in the ICU unit, and one each at Saint Louis Hospital, Hua Chiew Hospital, Bamrungrad Hospital and Bangpakok Hospital. A total of one death was reported on the scene.
