Thai politics not intervened
BANGKOK, 28 April 2010 (NNT) – Foreign countries have good understanding toward the situation in Thailand and none of them have shown intention to interfere in the ongoing problem in Thai politics, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Secretary to the Foreign Minister, Chavanond Intarakomalyasut, dismissed the rumor that some foreign countries were trying to intervene in Thailand’s internal affairs. He said they just expressed their concerns and understanding over the situation since there were many casualties caused by the problem.
Mr Chavanond added that the Foreign Ministry has been confirming the world community that the Thai government will take the utmost attempt to enforce laws against those ill-intentioned people and third party in line with the international standard in order to solve the internal issue itself.
Recently, ASEAN members, such as Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore, have expressed their concerns over the political situation in Thailand and a hope that the kingdom would be able to solve the problem via negotiating means.
