Puea Thai condemns two horrific night attacks on 7 May
BANGKOK, 8 May 2010 (NNT) – Puea Thai Party has condemned the two horrific attacks on Silom and Rama IV roads while stressing that the government should prosecute those involved with such shameful acts by taking them to face legal punishment at haste in order to prevent the reoccurrence of such mindless attack.
Puea Thai MP for Bangkok, Group Captain Anudith Nakornthap, in his capacity as the secretary of the security operation center, had expressed his deep regret to the victims’ relatives of the 7 May violent incidents. He also condemned whoever were involved with such inhuman act causing one dead and eleven injuries on that day.
Mr Anudith also suggested the government should speedily apprehend the law offenders in order to take serious legal action against them to prevent further incidents.
Mr Anudith further came up with doubt that why the security officers could not catch or even surround them because many rows of security officers had been established with heightened security in several strategic spots around that area.
Meanwhile, Mr Anudith believed that the two attacks were executed by some groups of people who did not agree with the roadmap for national reconciliation as proposed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva including the holding of a new general election, adding that the incidents were just aimed to create fear and instability to the nation.
On 7 May at 22.45 hrs at Saladaeng intersection Silom road, the ill-intentioned people executed a drive-by shooting and gave raging fire to the authorities on duty at a Krungthai Bank branch at Zuellig House Building. One was pronounced dead after being admitted to the hospital. Two police and four passer-by have been reportedly injured. Another attack reported to be M79 grenade shooting took place around gate 4 of Lumpini park on Rama IV road. One was shot dead at the scene while five police officers were injured.
