Interior Ministry to launch television channel
BANGKOK, 10 June 2010 (NNT) — The Ministry of Interior is prepared to launch a television channel to provide information about the ministry’s missions and projects.
The channel, called the Mahadthai Channel or directly translated as Interior Channel will start broadcasting on 14 June 2010.
According to Interior Minister Chavarat Charnvirakul, the Mahadthai Channel is a vital communication medium that will reach out to the public at the provincial level. The channel will inform the public of the ministry’s as well as the government’s policies such as protecting the nation’s important institutions, measures to tackle drugs, and information about natural disasters, Mr Chavarat said. The minister also detailed that the channel will promote provincial products under OTOP, launching the OTOP Shop Channel.
The channel will allow public participation; the public can engage by phoning into the program, Mr Chavarat said.
The Mahadthai Channel can be viewed on C-Band of ThaiCom 5 satellite.
